Silent
Scream
~
A poem by Dale, a
survivor of Rift Valley Academy, Kenya
From the bottom of my being, rumbling
Earthquake from the depths:
shaking the foundation,
scattering the innocence,
shattering the being,
meeting death's
Hand:
Planted firmly
so as not to let it pass.
that unrelenting seal,
with clamp-like
suffocating feel,
this hand that steals
the very breath of life.
Alas
The word:
This soundless word
is swallowed once again;
in fear of death,
in gasp for life
it's resonance of pain;
Swallowed
where it's acid burns a
hole
within the very fabric of
my soul.
Unheard:
this muffled word -
echoes:
N-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O !!!
