Maureen Hughes-Phillips grew up in the Chicago area. The eldest of nine children, she was raised in the Catholic Church and attended parochial schools. After becoming a believer, she and her husband Rich attended several Christian and Missionary Alliance churches as they moved around the country with his job. She served in various leadership roles and was involved in the missions life of the churches. Her involvement in MK Safety Net grew out of her relationship with the Shellrude family. She currently serves on the Board of Royal Family Kids Camp Fox Valley (a ministry to children who are living in foster care because of abuse or neglect) and on the Short-Term Missions Task Force at her local church. She and Rich are the parents of three grown children. |
