I am 58, married to Karen for 37 years. I am the father of three married children, with one grandchild (+ Ö). I am presently employed as a hospital chaplain working with mental health and chemical dependency patients as well as general medical areas. My parents were missionaries with the Friends Mission in Kenya during the 50's and 60's. I spent 3 ½ yrs with my family in Uganda in the 80's. My older brother and I attended Rift Valley Academy for Jr. and Hi school years. My vocation as pastor/chaplain was a direct result of my own spiritual turmoil and seeking. I have lived with depression much of my life, but it wasn’t until I entered a chaplain training residency that I was finally able to acknowledge my abuse issues and begin my healing journey. Music and poetry have a big part of my spiritual healing journey. I join others on their journeys not with answers but with listening and a caring heart. |
